Frozen Cinnamon Banana Bites

Do you have a teething baby in your house?Liv is teething... the poor girl when from just 2 teeth by age 15 months, to 'cutting a full set' as my dear friend S. says, in just a month's time.  And she is miserable... I mean, M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E!  My dear friend Tiffanie over at Life with Little Man recently shared her teething troubles. The worst part of about teething is the helplessness feeling that we mamas have..

Sure we have the Ora-Gel and the Motrin, but she's just a sad girl - oh and acting out - good grief!  The tantrums she's exhibited rival anything her four-year-old brother has displayed at that age (or since!)

Anyhow, I saw these little banana bites on Pinterest and thought maybe they'd feel good on my little diva's gums.  Let me tell you, she loves them (and by the way, our friends children love them, too, even the older kiddos!)

So here's a very simple recipe for cinnamon banana bites perfect for the teething babe at your house!

Cinnamon Banana Bites

Ingredients:
1 Banana
Pinch of Cinnamon

Directions:
Slide the banana into little slices and arrange on a plate.  Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the top, and slide them into the freezer uncovered.  I left mine in the freezer overnight, but a couple of hours will be just fine.

Now, I know what you're thinking - won't the banana turn brown and yucky?? I thought that, too, but, in fact, they stay quite nice.

I let them sit on the counter for a few minutes before serving them - but don't wait too long because they thaw quickly.  These are especially perfect for bananas that a bit overripe, and you don't have time to make banana bread.

I hope your little one enjoys these as much as mine does!

  1. I haven't tried putting cinnamon on them but, my 7 month old granddaughter loves to chew on frozen bananas, or any other fruit! Messy but apparently yummy!

  5. Yum! My daughter loves frozen bananas. I've never thought to sprinkle cinnamon on them. I will have to try that. Another think you may want to try for teething... A cold, raw carrot. My daughter will gnaw on one while we read books to help soothe her gums. :)
