The Summer Reading Weekly Book Giveaway

Summer Reading Book Giveaway 2012
Today I'm very excited to be co-hosting The Summer Reading Weekly Book Giveaway with Mother Daughter Book Reviews, a website where Mom and her daughter (and sometimes her son too!) share their opinions about some of the books they’ve read. Mother Daughter Book Reviews has been giving books away all summer and in this final week you get the chance to meet six fabulous bloggers who feel as passionately about children’s books as they do!

Recommended Reads:  Each of the participating blogs, including myself, were asked to provide three of their favorite children’s books that they would like to recommend.  To learn more about each recommended read, please click on individual book covers.  Winners will be allowed to choose ANY of the Recommended Reads from ANY of the participating blogs - you can check out their picks by clicking the links below:

Leanna @ All Done Monkey
Jaymie @ Snacks for Max
Gin and Anna @ Addicted to Words
Shaunna & Kim @ Mudpies & Melodies

My three recommendations are books I've recently featured, and which we adore here in our house.  Be sure to check out my past reviews of these awesome books:

When a Dragon Moves In - Jodi Moore
In the Trees, HoneyBees - Lori Mortensen
Pirate Nap - Danna Smith

Prizes: Mother Daughter Book Reviews will be providing books to two winners.  Each of the participating blogs will be providing one book to one winner.  That means this week, there will be NINE winners.  PLUS, as with previous weeks, if Mother Daughter Book Reviews subscription list grows to over 300 subscribers, we will have a draw for a bonus winner.  That means we could have TEN winners this week!  Each winner will choose from ONE of the books listed below (ANY of the Recommended Reads) or you may choose any ONE Children’s Book (up to $15 CAD) from The Book Depository.

Contest closes: September 3, 12:01 am, 2012

Open: Internationally

How to enter: Please enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.  There is no mandatory entry.  Enter using any or all of the options below.  As with the previous weeks’ giveaways, all current email subscribers to the Mother Daughter Book Reviews website will be entered automatically, but will only receive one entry into the draw (for subscribing).  You must visit and follow the participating sites to gain extra entries through all the additional options.

Terms and Conditions: The randomly drawn winners will be contacted by email within 48 hours after the giveaway ends. Winners will be announced by the following Friday after the giveaway ends. Books will be ordered for delivery to the winners within one week of the end of the giveaway. If you have any additional questions, feel free to send us an email!

  1. Hi Ang, When a Dragon Moves in looks really good. Last year, our teachers were doing "job action" so we didn't get a single Scholastic flyer all year. I used to get so many books through those flyers. Can't wait to start getting them again this fall! Thanks for participating in the book giveaway. Cheers!

  2. Job action just means that they only do the activities listed under their contract. You'd be surprised how much stuff teachers do that aren't part of their contract. For example, they wouldn't distribute the Scholastic order forms, they would not meeting with parents either before or after school (meetings with the teacher had to be scheduled during school hours and a substitute would be brought in to watch the kids or the principal would come into the class to supervise). They didn't coach kids in after school sports or do an extra-curricular activities. They wouldn't help collect money for the Parent Advisory Council fundraisers, for a while they didn't do report cards, the list goes on and on. It was a very challenging year last year (being on the PAC).
